Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to shape the direction of our accounting function. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, driving efficient month-end and year-end close, strengthening internal controls, and leading the daily execution of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader and change agent—someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a continuous improvement mindset, ERP proficiency, and the ability to partner cross-functionally to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making.
Responsibilities
Lead AP operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Coordinate payment runs, supporting proper cash management and timely disbursements.
Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice/payment discrepancies quickly and professionally.
Ensure accurate vendor setup and maintenance, including W-9 compliance and 1099 readiness.
Review and approve employee expense reimbursements for accuracy, authorization, and policy compliance.
Reconcile AP subledgers to the general ledger and resolve variances.
Analyze workflows, identify automation opportunities, and track key operational performance metrics.
Oversee receipt application processes, ensuring bank activity is captured and recorded accurately by AR staff.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances to maintain healthy cash flow.
Reconcile AR subledgers to the general ledger and resolve variances.
Ensure AP and AR activity is accurately recorded in the general ledger.
Support and improve the month-end and year-end close process, including accruals, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis.
Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and procedures.
Provide ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to support leadership decision-making.
Address accounting-related notices in a timely manner.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Partner cross-functionally to support revenue forecasting and operational planning.
Provide insights that improve financial visibility, scalability, and performance.
Supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff.
Provide training, performance feedback, and ongoing support to drive accuracy, accountability, and professional growth.
Promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bolingbrook, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $125000.00/hr.
