The WDC is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our small, collaborative team. This role supports initiatives with statewide impact and has two primary focus areas: leading communications and social media efforts, and coordinating the statewide Educator Externship Program, which places educators in industry settings to strengthen alignment between education and workforce needs.
You will also support other Council initiatives, including Talent Pipeline Management (TPM), grants, and employer engagement.
Example of Duties:
Communications & Social Media Management • Manage social media (content, scheduling, analytics) • Support communications for Council priorities and programs • Maintain accurate, accessible website content • Create engaging digital content (posts, graphics, campaigns) • Share success stories and track engagement
Educator Externship Program Coordination
• Coordinate the statewide Educator Externship Program, including planning and partner engagement
• Serve as the main contact for educators and employers
• Support outreach and grow participation • Track activities, outcomes, and reporting • Identify ways to strengthen and expand the program
Project & Program Support • Support workforce initiatives, including TPM and grants • Collaborate with staff and partners to carry out initiatives • Provide communications support to advance projects and engagement
Public Relations & Outreach • Build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders • Represent the Council at meetings and events • Develop presentations, materials, and responses to public inquiries
Some in-state travel is required. Occasional out-of-state travel may be available for professional development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
· Planning and implementing projects. Typically gained through at least one year of project management experience. Experience may include developing projects (including needs assessment and budgeting) and evaluating them against goals and outcomes.
· Developing, promoting, and gaining project support. Typically gained by at least one year of experience developing, identifying, recruiting and coordinating resource support to meet identified needs or problems.
· Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public. Typically gained through at least one year of experience translating complex information for public or non-technical audiences.
