Responsibilities
Treasure Valley Hospital (TVH) is a 28‑bed, Joint Commission–accredited, physician owned surgical hospital located in Boise, Idaho. TVH is consistently recognized for high patient satisfaction and provides specialized surgical care across multiple service lines, including:
Orthopedics
Neurosurgery
Cardiology
General Surgery
With 10 operating rooms and a collaborative clinical environment, TVH offers pharmacists the opportunity to practice in a focused, patient‑centered setting where quality, safety, and teamwork are prioritized.
Position Overview
Treasure Valley Hospital is seeking an experienced hospital pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team in a full‑time role. This position supports inpatient medication management across surgical and post‑operative care settings.
The ideal candidate is a clinically strong pharmacist who values collaboration, patient safety, and working in a small‑hospital environment where pharmacists play a visible and impactful role in patient care.
Schedule
Monday through Friday - variable shifts
Overnight, holiday, and weekend on‑call coverage required on a rotating basis
Key Responsibilities
Review, verify, and dispense medication orders
Verifies pharmacy technician work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
Ensure safe and accurate medication preparation and distribution, including sterile compounding as applicable
Participate in medication reconciliation and support safe transitions of care
Serve as a medication resource for physicians, nursing staff, and other clinical team members
Provide clinical and drug information support as needed
Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards, state and federal regulations, and hospital policies
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
Opportunity for involvement in hospital committees, including Opioid Stewardship and Diversion Prevention, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics.
Qualifications
Required
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy
Current Idaho pharmacist license in good standing
BLS certification (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
Preferred
Previous hospital pharmacy experience
Experience in a surgical or acute‑care setting
Familiarity with inpatient medication verification and sterile compounding workflows
