Description:
We are seeking to hire a Nursing Supervisor for our Clinical Support Team (float pool)! This position is eligible for sign-on incentives, competitive base pay plus a special shift differential! Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of leadership and supervision as normally obtained through a bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care related field.
Our ideal candidate has the ability to make decisions and take action in stressful situations, while providing outstanding patient care for patients and their families. He or she needs to have excellent communication skills and must be a team player. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of leadership and supervision as normally obtained through a bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care related field. Must have two years of RN experience in acute care or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Functions :
- Meets Health System's Guiding Behaviors and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.
2 Assists the Manager in overseeing department operations; responsible for shift operations, quality of care, staffing, program development and evaluations and medical staff relations.
Collaborates with Manager and QA representative to facilitate the interdisciplinary quality assurance program for nursing service delivery and overview of Quality and Safety initiatives.
Plans, assigns and monitors work of staff. Participates in supervisory duties including hiring, salary review, competency assessments, staff development, and counseling of employees.
In cooperation with other supervisors, monitors, documents and provides feedback to department staff on job performance.
Consistently performs the essential functions of a Registered Nurse in the assigned patient care unit and assists the nursing staff with patient care as needed. Serves as a role model for nursing staff; maintains a current knowledge base of unit-specific nursing theory and skills.
Plans and/or participates in specific orientation of new employees including coordination of preceptors. Serves as a mentor to new charge nurses.
Participates in development & review of polices and procedures and ensures they are reviewed, revised, and implemented in appropriate time frames.
Reviews patient grievances and incident (VOICE) reports.
Attends meetings and represents Nurse Manager in his/her absence.
Facilitates communication between patients and families and their physicians, care givers, and other health team members.
Other duties may include Kronos (timekeeping), scheduling and supply maintenance.
General:
- Three years of acute care RN experience required,
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
License/Certification:
Registered Nurse license in Idaho required
American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification required
