Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Linux System Engineer to join their team. As a Linux System Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting high-performance environments used for advanced product development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, proactive communication, and a passion for continuous improvement, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Linux System Engineer

Location: Boise, ID

What's the Job?

• Provide high-quality Linux server support for engineering and design teams

• Partner with engineers to understand requirements and deliver infrastructure solutions that meet performance and scalability needs

• Provision and manage both physical and virtual systems

• Automate system builds, configuration management, and operational tasks using tools like Puppet, Python, and shell scripting

• Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact users

What's Needed?

• 3–5 years of experience administering Linux systems in a production environment

• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, performance tuning, and troubleshooting

• Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet preferred)

• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation and system management

• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams and translate technical requirements into solutions
