Eaton Corporation Lead Sales Engineer in Boise, Idaho
Eaton’s North American Sales division is currently seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to join the team. This position will be based in Boise, ID with a focus on power distribution solutions for the residential and commercial construction markets. Specifically, this position will be tasked with selling these solutions to electrical contractors in these markets that focus on new construction of single-family housing units, multifamily housing units, light commercial and mixed-use facilities, and medium to large commercial construction. These electrical contractors that require solutions from Eaton may focus on large scale construction projects for new healthcare buildings, water and wastewater facilities, government buildings and facilities, airports, data centers, and midrise and high-rise mixed-use buildings.
Relocation assistance is available for candidates who reside outside a 75 mile radius of either location. This exciting opportunity provides the ability to build relationships, execute sales plans, and leverage business analytics to drive account growth. What you’ll do:
• Build, develop, and maintain relationships with key electrical contractors, channel partners, and strategic end user customers to drive sales growth and become a trusted advisor for assigned accounts.
• Interpret electrical plans and specifications to generate a detailed proposal for a customer project. This proposal will include negotiated pricing and a detailed bill of material (BOM) for Eaton products and services that will be used in the project to distribute power through the building(s) within the scope of the project. The proposal will also include any clarifications or exceptions taken to the plans and specifications.
• Utilize Eaton’s CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool to maintain an up-to-date pipeline of opportunities with assigned customers to meet and exceed annual sales and orders targets.
• Collaborate cross functionally with product lines, operations and other internal stakeholders to provide customer centric solutions.
• Proactively work with factories to resolve technical issues while working with customers to resolve quality issues and other post order issues.
• Partner with inside sales, adjacent outside sales teams, channel managers, pricing and other cross-functional professionals to solve customer needs and deliver solutions.
• Support project management teams on post order questions or issues for projects on assigned accounts.
• Learn and understand business models to better own, develop and execute sales plans to meet performance expectations and requirements.
• Use corporate tools and business analytics about the customer to drive data-based decisions concerning account opportunities and growth.
• Collaborate and leverage Channel/Distribution partners to execute on business objectives – driving sales growth for assigned accounts.
• Understand market dynamics to gain insight and adjust to ever changing pricing and delivery requirements.
• Obtain ongoing training to enhance both functional and technical skills.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years in a technical or commercial field, Associates degree with seven (7) years in a technical or commercial field, or a high school diploma with nine (9) years in the technical or commercial field will be considered.
• Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum five (5) years of electrical industry sales experience
• Knowledge of Boise area electrical contractors and electrical distributors.
• Familiarity with electrical distribution equipment including load centers, group metering, and disconnects for residential construction projects.
• Familiarity with electrical distribution equipment including switchboards, panelboards, automatic transformer switches, safety switches, dry type distribution transformers for commercial construction projects.
• Familiarity with electrical distribution equipment including low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage switches, and medium voltage motor starting solutions used in large commercial construction and industrial projects.
The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $124,000.00 - $182,00.00.
Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
