By joining the DHR team, you would serve as a trusted Human Resource Business Partner I, providing integrated and innovative human resources solutions for Idaho Dept. of Correction (IDOC) and Commission of Pardons & Parole (COPP). This classified position will operate under the guidance of DHR leadership and will be located at IDOC in Boise, Idaho.

COPP

Summary:

To provide human resource services in one or more of the following areas: consultation and training on human resource related topics, application review and candidate testing, recruitment, job analysis and classification, benefits and leave administration, relevant program administration; perform related work. This position may provide support to multiple agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Consulting with and advises employees and/or management on human resource matters;

  • Conducting in-depth interviews and research in a variety of HR areas, reports findings and makes recommendations to management;

  • Completing job analysis, identifying classes of work and job requirements, develops job descriptions, or recommends appropriate classification;

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the recruitment process: reviewing and generating job descriptions, posting announcements, managing the hiring process, providing information on career opportunities and guidance to hiring managers on selection practices;

  • Recommending personnel policy and procedure changes and updates;

  • Reviews personnel actions and employment activities for compliance with federal, state and agency rules, policies and procedures;

  • Determining eligibility and administers benefits;

  • Coordinating, conducting and facilitating employee orientation and other human resource training;

  • Performing or overseeing preparation and submittal of personnel, payroll and benefits documents;

  • May process payroll and perform related functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Some knowledge of:

  • Human resource administration;

  • Equal employment opportunity concepts and legal requirements

Experience:

  • Interpreting, explaining, applying laws, regulations, and policies;

  • Counseling employees on human resource matters;

MQ Specialties:

Good knowledge of:

  • Employee recruitment methods;

Some knowledge of:

  • Employee benefits program administration;

  • Job analysis concepts;

  • Training methods;

  • Data analytics

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to:

  • Willingness to work in a correctional facility
