Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a temporary Fleet Services Coordinator to join our Fleet team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Fleet Services Coordinator do for us?

They function as a part of a team coordinating Fleet Services and Equipment Resource Pool's (ERP) daily logistics in a dynamic manner that meets deadlines and provides superior customer service to Idaho Power Company (IPC) employees. Additional duties include:

  • Coordinating equipment (trucks, machinery) and personnel (crew, drivers, or operators) as needed to meet the needs of the IPC construction workload or material deliveries

  • Coordinating resource and schedule requirements with stakeholders

  • Supporting Garage Foremen with IPC vehicle repair scheduling with outside vendors

  • Generating reports and schedules inspections for IPC vehicles

  • Entering data into Fleet Focus to track incoming charges against IPC vehicles

  • Scheduling and tracking intra-company vehicle and tool rentals

  • Scheduling rentals from outside vendors (i.e., forklifts, cranes, storage containers, etc.)

  • Verifying charges, and processes invoices using Asset Suite

  • Following up on the status of rented equipment to confirm that equipment is returned in a timely manner

  • Maintaining ERP schedule and calendar to ensure adequate resources are available for IPC activities

  • Training employees on mileage tickets and/or enters mileage tickets for rented IPC vehicles and tools

  • Tracking any Zonar errors on rented vehicles

  • Analyzing, identifying, and resolving equipment and tool scheduling problems

  • Supporting preparation and receiving of rented vehicles in support of Yard Coordinator

  • Stands call after hours for emergencies requiring resources

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

  • Heavy equipment required for utility construction work

  • Resource scheduling, scheduling processes, batch processes, Asset Works, Asset Suite

  • Personal computers including commonly used business software applications (such as MS Office, Excel)

  • Scheduling software, current customer information system, Asset Suite, Workday, Work Management, Contract Management, Accounts Payable, and Inventory

Preferred:

  • Department of Transportation (DOT) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) regulations

Skills in:

  • Conflict management, time management, prioritization, and organization

  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication

Preferred:

  • Advanced Excel and business analytics

Ability to:

  • Manage multiple projects at one time with constant interruptions

  • Communicate effectively to gather project information and to disseminate project schedule information

  • Work with a wide variety of personality types and situations throughout the company

  • Adapt easily to change

  • Maintain organized and accurate files

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, general business studies, or other related quantitative discipline

OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience performing resource scheduling in construction or utility environment

OR

  • 3 years of related work experience in a fleet or equipment operation

Preferred:

  • 5 years of experience performing resource scheduling in construction or utility environment

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May require light-duty physical tasks in support of vehicle preparation and receiving.

Additional safety related training may be required.

Job requires work for long periods of time using a keyboard and computer monitor. Job requires on call work. Must be able to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Temporary employees are eligible to apply for internal job postings. In order for your current position to be held for your return, qualified employees must have supervisory approval to participate and have been in their current position for at least six months.
