This role leads complex electrical construction projects within a high-tech semiconductor environment in Boise, ID. You will oversee the full project lifecycle for large-scale electrical scopes of work, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, financial performance, and client satisfaction. The position is ideal for an experienced electrical construction professional who thrives in mission-critical environments such as semiconductor facilities and data centers, and who enjoys collaborating closely with field teams, trade partners, and general contractors.
Responsibilities
Provide strong safety leadership on all assigned projects, promoting and enforcing a culture of safe work practices.
Administer contracts, including reviewing terms, managing compliance, and coordinating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Set up new projects, including establishing project controls, documentation standards, and communication protocols.
Coordinate and schedule site labor, ensuring adequate staffing levels and alignment of workforce with project milestones.
Develop, manage, and track project budgets and estimates, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and financial goals.
Prepare, review, and manage project documentation, including submittals, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and other required records.
Coordinate purchasing activities and subcontracts, including material procurement, vendor selection, and subcontractor oversight.
Track production and progress against plan, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Oversee quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure work meets project specifications and industry standards.
Monitor project costs, manage billing, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing in line with contract requirements.
Prepare and maintain project cost-to-complete reports and forecasts, proactively managing financial performance and risk.
Initiate, price, and manage project change orders, ensuring proper documentation, negotiation, and approval.
Lead and coordinate project closeout activities, including punch lists, final documentation, and turnover to the client.
Maintain clear and consistent internal and external communication with project teams, clients, trade partners, and other stakeholders.
Perform additional related duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.
Essential Skills
5+ years of project management experience in the construction industry for Project Manager roles; 8+ years of project management experience in the construction industry for Senior Project Manager roles.
A working knowledge of electrical construction at a level normally acquired through completion of a five-year electrical apprentice program.
Electrical construction experience, preferably with an electrical contractor, on semiconductor or data center projects.
For Senior Project Manager: 5+ years of experience in high-tech or mission-critical data center construction.
For Project Manager: 2+ years of experience in mission-critical data center construction.
Hands-on experience with electrical systems, including medium- to high-voltage applications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for project documentation, reporting, and communication.
Proficiency with Bluebeam for plan review, markups, and coordination.
Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to guide project teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with field teams, clients, and partners.
Demonstrated financial analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or a combination of field experience and education.
Experience managing electrical construction projects in semiconductor facilities and high-tech environments.
Experience working in mission-critical data centers with an emphasis on reliability and uptime.
Strong interpersonal and human relations skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, vendors, and clients.
Tactful and professional demeanor, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environment.
Willingness to relocate to or work on-site in Boise, ID, with support available for the right fit.
Work Environment
This is a salaried, on-site role supporting a Micron project in Boise, ID, within a high-tech semiconductor facility. The schedule currently follows a 60/60/50 rotation through the general contractor, reflecting an intensive but structured project cadence. You will work closely with field electricians, project engineers, the general contractor, and other trade partners in an active construction environment focused on mission-critical systems. A company vehicle or vehicle allowance and a company phone or phone allowance are provided to support your work. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
