Actalent Process Engineer in Bluffton, Indiana
Job Title: Machining EngineerJob Description
This role initially involves spending 50% of the time on the shop floor and 50% programming or in the office. Over time, the position will evolve into a role focused on larger projects and new processes. The transition reflects an internal promotion to a supervisory position within the process engineering team.
Responsibilities
Manage new machinery projects and evaluate machine load.
Engage in CNC machining process engineering and CNC programming.
Utilize CAM software for programming, with a preference for SolidCAM and required experience in SolidWorks.
Troubleshoot and redesign complex CNC machining processes.
Collaborate with quality, production, and other engineering departments.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in CNC machining process engineering or CNC programming.
Strong experience with CAM software, particularly SolidCAM and SolidWorks.
Advanced understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Swiss-style CNC programming.
Experience supporting new product introduction or process validation.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience in high-volume or precision manufacturing environments.
Work Environment
The work schedule is from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturday work planned quarterly. The role involves working alongside quality, production, and other engineering departments. The Bluffton facility employs 100 people and is a union shop, although union matters will not directly affect this position. The manufacturing and machining areas can be exposed to oil, coolant, and metal residue.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
