Aerotek Machine Operator in Bluffton, Indiana

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking skilled machine operators with a experience in press operating to join our dynamic team. Currently there are openings on our 1st shift and 2nd shift due to expansion. You will be responsible for operating one of the twenty presses, collaborating with a team of up to four members to place raw materials on the press. Safety is our priority, and each team member must adhere to our safety protocols by placing hands on the sensor to operate the press. You will also be tasked with visually inspecting parts and using gauges to ensure specifications are met. Our facility specializes in metal stamping for the automotive and heavy equipment industries.

Responsibilities

  • Operate one of twenty presses in a metal stamping facility.

  • Collaborate with a team to place raw materials on the press.

  • Ensure safety protocols by using sensor systems during press operations.

  • Visually inspect parts and utilize gauges to verify specifications.

  • Work efficiently in a team environment to meet production goals.

Essential Skills

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Ability to lift 45 lbs

  • Steady job history

  • Proficiency in machine operation and inspection

  • Wearing steel-toed boots is mandatory

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in steel/stamping

  • Press operation experience is beneficial

  • Familiarity with blueprints and assembly processes

Work Environment

Our facility supports the automotive industry, predominantly focusing on heavy trucks and caterpillars. The environment is lively and not temperature-controlled, which means it can get hot during summer months. We pride ourselves on a relaxed atmosphere where everyone works as a team. The facility is part of a UAW Union, although membership is not mandatory. The dress code includes wearing jeans and steel-toed boots.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.48 - $19.48/hr.
