Insight Global Analytics Engineer (Remote) in Blue Ash, Ohio
Job Description
An employer is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join their data organization. This individual will play a key role in transforming curated data into clear, consistent, and analytics‑ready data models that support reporting, dashboards, and decision‑making across the business. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders, owning the semantic layer and ensuring metrics are trusted, well‑defined, and easy to use.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled in SQL‑based transformations, understands dimensional modeling best practices, and partners closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver intuitive, high‑quality analytics assets that enable self‑service insights and operational decision‑making.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain analytics‑ready data models, including facts, dimensions, and data marts
Develop and manage SQL‑based transformations within the semantic and analytics layer
Own and maintain metrics, business logic, and calculations to ensure consistency across dashboards and reports
Apply dimensional modeling best practices optimized for BI and analytical consumption
Partner closely with product, operations, finance, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well‑defined metrics and models
Act as a steward of business logic by ensuring metric definitions are documented, aligned, and standardized
Proactively identify gaps or inconsistencies in metrics and drive alignment across teams
Optimize analytics models for clarity, usability, and performance for downstream consumers
Support analysts and BI developers by enabling faster, more reliable dashboard and reporting development
Implement data quality checks and testing at the analytics layer
Contribute to analytics engineering standards, conventions, and documentation
Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve source data readiness for analytics

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in analytics engineering, analytics, business intelligence, or a related role
Advanced SQL skills with experience building complex, maintainable transformations
Hands‑on experience with analytics engineering and semantic‑layer tooling
Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, metrics design, and semantic layer concepts
Experience supporting BI tools and downstream analytics use cases (dashboards, reporting, ad‑hoc analysis)
Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Experience in healthcare‑related operations and familiarity with industry terminology - Experience enabling self‑service analytics at scale
Exposure to data quality frameworks or analytics testing practices
Prior work supporting operational or financial reporting use cases
