HealthPartners/GHI Non-Union Position Summary JOB CODE: 122246 POSITION TITLE: Broker Service Consultant DATE: November 21, 2012 (Reviewed) July 2021 DEPARTMENT: Marketing / Sales Development & Administration REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Manager, Broker Administration POSITION PURPOSE: (Why does this position exist?) The position has primary accountability for coordinating the HealthPartners broker contracting and appointment process. The position also has accountability for maintaining data integrity in the Broker Compensation System. ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Key roles, responsibilities & functions for this position) (For supervisory position - indicate positions/departments supervised) Works closely with the Broker Sales Team, Individual & Senior Sales Team, Government & Labor Team and Major & National Team to facilitate the proper contracting and appointment process. Process and screen external inquires for potential broker contracting. Process and maintain executed broker contracts and company appointments, Errors & Omissions verification, and Licensing. Process monthly broker and contract associations. Understand and process Medicare & Individual Broker compensation schedules Broker Administration point of contact for Agent Medicare Certification process Coordinate decisions regarding broker administration with areas of expertise to include, but are not limited to: Accounts Payable Finance Membership Accounting Underwriting Sales Account Management System Maintenance & Reporting Member Services Assist with implementation of: Broker events, including training events Broker communications Other projects as assigned Follow HealthPartners' procedures, document and report progress as directed, and supply team with information necessary to function properly. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum qualifications needed for this position) Associate's degree in a related field or 4 years related work experience. Two years related sales or customer service experience preferably within the health insurance industry. Knowledge and understanding of the role of brokers in the distribution and service of health products. Proficiency with personal computers: spreadsheet, word processing, database and workflow management programs (Microsoft Office applications). Ability to manage multiple project assignments and tight timelines. Strong attention to detail. Execution of a non-competition agreement upon hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge of Minnesota and Wisconsin life and health insurance license requirements and appointments College course work in business, finance or health related studies Strong knowledge of HealthPartners' and affiliate company operations Previous experience working with the brokerage community Working knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement and Covey principles Prior experience in team environment Prior health insurance and/or sales experience.
