Job Title: HVAC Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our Refrigeration Shop team, responsible for performing planned maintenance, repairs, and various projects on owned properties. This role involves working independently or collaboratively with other trades, focusing on commercial and residential HVAC systems and various refrigeration equipment.
Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace chillers, central air systems, window air conditioners, chillers, and refrigeration equipment.
Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.
Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
Collaborate with heat mechanics in maintaining, servicing, and repairing HVAC equipment and boiler equipment, including water treatment.
Service, repair, and rebuild pumps and compressors.
Essential Skills
2+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC service/troubleshooting experience.
Refrigeration experience.
EPA Universal or EPA 608 Certification.
Electrical skills.
Preventive maintenance expertise.
Boiler and chiller knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting HVAC in commercial or industrial settings.

Work Environment
Expect to respond to HVAC equipment maintenance across campus, with varying temperatures depending on the season and location. This role requires physical activity, including bending, squatting, and lifting, sometimes working in smaller spaces. The standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, with potential rotation for on-call duty.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.84 - $38.00/hr.
