Business Unit Overview

8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.

Responsibilities

Warehouse Shipping Receiving & Material Handling - Dayshift

Job Summary

Responsibility working within the warehouse and production areas of the plant, handling materials through forklift operation, and aiding in the manufacturing of tree nut butters. Responsibility to transport materials by forklift within areas of the plant. Responsibility to consistently portray an attitude of health & safety and food safety and quality, as the number one goal of the company. Responsibility to support the importance of GMP & PPE requirements in all positions.

Shift Dayshift 8hours Monday To Friday

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment

• Responsible for ensuring proper machine start up and shut down at the beginning and end of shift

• Maintaining pre-shift forklift inspection checklist

• Responsible for bringing supplies to the production line

• Responsible for moving pallets to corresponding locations

• Responsible for loading, unloading, and moving product and materials by hand or using forklift

• Performing other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packaging, and unpacking

• Uses RF scanner proficiently

• Communicates verbal instructions to drivers, vendors, and suppliers

• Responsible for aiding in sanitation

• Responsible for updating reports in excel, creating and sending email communications

Qualifications

• Current Forklift (counterbalance) Certification required

• Minimum 1 year's experience required

• Experience working in a food manufacturing facility warehouse with GMP & PPE requirements an asset

• Good verbal and written communication skills with others such as drivers, vendors and colleagues

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) for data entry and communications

• Some ability to multi-task, stay organized and problem solve

• Some mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and be fluent in American weights and measurements.

• Good team skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting with all departments.

•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules in English

•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English

Physical Demands

• Able to lift-up to 50lbs

• Stand for long periods of time

• Ability to twist torso and sit for 6hours or more

The pay range for this position is $19.50 to $21.00 per hour.
