As a Hydraulic and Pneumatic Cylinder Assembler/Tester/Painter, you will be joining a team environment with associates that are focused on meeting goals set for Safety, Quality, and Productivity to meet our customer demands.
This is a 1st Shift position, working 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday.
This position requires the use of information or access to technology which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR/EAR. ITAR/EAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
What You’ll Be Doing
Gather, clean and assemble a variety of cylinder components and bearings for final assembly and kitting
Complete final assembly of small to large bore cylinders using chart drawings, routings, and work instructions
Perform operational testing of hydraulic and pneumatic products under pressure; document test results as required
Inspect products to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications, including assembly accuracy and smooth operation
Prepare, paint (mixing/spraying special and standard paints), and route cylinders through shipping; conduct final inspection for painting finish, completeness, and correct parts/accessories
Support flexibility within the Assembly Department, including coverage for absences/time off
Assist with indirect functions such as stockroom and kitting as assigned
What We're Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, standard operating procedures, and router process sheets
Proficient in reading, writing, counting, and following special paint instructions; able to use standard inspection tools
Capable of moving at least 30 pounds independently; seeking assistance for heavier items
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Minimum of one (1) year manufacturing experience
Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Jackson, Michigan (no relocation provided)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year hydraulic testing experience
Experience with engineering test equipment
One (1) year spray-painting experience
Proficiency in machine shop math
Skilled in operating power hand tools and using micrometers, calipers and other measuring instruments
