CNC Machinist

Position Summary

The Machinist I supports daily production by operating CNC machinery, performing proven setups, troubleshooting basic production issues, and ensuring parts meet quality standards. This role works closely with supervisors and manufacturing engineering to maintain productivity, safety, and quality within the machining cell.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines in accordance with work instructions, SOPs, and safety standards

  • Perform tool offsets; preset tools; calibrate probes and tool setters

  • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments

  • Troubleshoot common machine alarms and production issues

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area (5S/6S)

  • Assist with setups, process flow, and meeting production goals

  • Support training of operators and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • 2–4 years of manufacturing or CNC experience preferred

  • Technical degree or CNC apprenticeship a plus

  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T

  • Working knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and inspection methods

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork skills

Pay & Shift Information

  • Pay Range: $25.78 – $33.40 per hour

  • Shift Differential: +$1.00 or +$1.50 per hour (based on assigned shift)

Available Shifts:

  • B Shift: Monday – Wednesday, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM ($1.00 Differential)

  • D Shift: Thursday – Saturday, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM ($1.50 Differential)

Work Environment

The role requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and includes intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday. You will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, chemicals, and light/lasers. Appropriate Personal Protection Equipment must be worn as per position requirements and company policy.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Black Creek, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.78 - $34.90/hr.
