Waste Connections Diesel Mechanic in Bishop, California
Bishop Waste , a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a Diesel Mechanic to work on our fleet in Bishop, CA!
This is a hybrid role where the individual will also be working out of our Mammoth Lakes, CA shop.

The schedule will be Monday through Friday. Start time varies depending on the site, but will be between 5:30AM - 8:00 AM , working 8 to 10 hours work days. Some Saturdays as needed.
Starting pay is $38-$45 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
Repairs include but are not limited to,routine maintenanceand repairing engines chassis and body components,hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels and tires.
Inspects equipment and/or trucks for condition,operations, parts and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, andhubs.
Utilizes vehicle computerelectronicssystems to interpretfailure modesto initiate or assign repairs.
Conductssafetychecks on vehicles and equipment.
Completes requiredpaperworkutilizingfleet maintenancesoftware program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on DriverVehicle InspectionReports.
Performsmaintenancerelated work as required.
Maintains a clean, safe work area incompliancewith corporate and OSHA standards.
Performs requiredsafetyprotocols while working on vehicles.
Ability to effectively communicateneeded repairs or tasks.
Working Conditions:
Extensivephysicalactivity. Requires strenuousphysicalwork;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basicsafetyprecautions.
Requirements:
Mechanical experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
Willing to work out of our Mammoth Lakes, CA shop depending on the needs of the business
Knowledge ofhydraulicsrepair.
Valid Class A or B CDL withair brakesendorsement preferred but not required at time of hire. The ability to obtain CDL in the future required.
Cleandrivingrecord.
Own personal tools.
Welding/fabricationexperience is a plus!
