You work with the RDQ team to conduct experiments and trials under the guidance of more senior team members.
How you will contribute
You will run pilot plant and/or laboratory operations, prepare and maintain the equipment and ingredients needed, capture and report data with technical rigor and accuracy, and ensure the safe working and operation of equipment and environment.

What you need to know about this position:
This role is to be focused in making samples for chocolate products with 90% of the time practical work and 10% reporting making.
Key Responsibilities:
Pilot Plant Operations:
- Understanding equipment setup and Clean-in-Place (CIP).
Culinary art experience:
Hands-on Sample Creation: proven ability to skilfully prepare and develop food samples, with specific experience in pastry or chocolate applications being highly preferred.
Ingredient & Formulation Knowledge: a solid grasp of ingredient science, product formulations, and the distinct production stages involved in food manufacturing.
Chocolate Handling Expertise: proficiency in preparing and handling chocolate samples, demonstrating an in-depth understanding and application of critical characteristics such as temper and viscosity for consistent results.
Trial Execution & Data Integrity:
Plan, prepare and execute detailed experimental protocols, ensuring precise measurement, mixing, and accurate sample processing.
Diligently record all observations, data, and measurements, maintaining thorough documentation and data integrity.
Quality & Food Safety Standards:
Strictly adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all relevant food safety regulations.
Conduct basic chocolate quality control tests and promptly report any deviations.
Collaborative Team Environment:
Work collaboratively with R&D scientists, engineers, and other technicians in a team environment.
Effectively communicate observations, results, and challenges to proactively support the team.
Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving:
Demonstrate a keen eye for detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all measurements and process execution.
Apply a methodical approach to problem-solving, addressing minor operational issues and adapting to changing trial parameters.
Safety First:
Exhibit a strong, non-negotiable commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Consistently use appropriate PPE and adhere to all safety protocols in the pilot plant.
