Kuehne+Nagel HR Business Partner in Birmingham, United Kingdom
It's more than a job
This Kuehne+Nagel Human Resources role covers recruiting, compensation, talent management and... toys. Yes, toys. Because your efforts create a functional and positive workplace that allows teams to stay focused on helping toy manufacturers, for example, get their products to stores and children around the world. Working in HR at Kuehne+Nagel brings more joy than we imagine.
You will manage day-to-day HR partnering activity, lead and coordinate HR projects, support with data and reporting, and act as a key contributor to broader people initiatives. You’ll also collaborate closely with our Lead HR Business Partners, supporting their work across Air and Sea Logistics and gaining exposure to more complex organisational projects and strategic initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, resourceful, confident managing their own workload, and knows when to escalate or seek support.
How you create impact
Partner with a diverse employee group across Project Logistics, QSHE and Insurance and support the Stakeholder Management for Air & Sea Logistics, underpinning the Lead HRBPs for these areas
Build strong working relationships with stakeholders including Board Directors and Senior Leaders
Escalate more complex or high risk cases appropriately, preparing documentation and case files for Lead HRBPs.
Provide clear, accurate HR advice to managers across your business areas
Assist the Head of HR by preparing data packs, dashboards and insights
Collaborate with local and global HR teams to ensure practices are consistent and aligned, ensuring a unified and effective employee experience across the business
Provide guidance on HR policies, employment law fundamentals and best practice
Lead and coordinate smaller scale HR projects (e.g. engagement initiatives, policy refreshes, local process improvements)
Support talent, performance and development processes
What we would like you to bring
Strong Senior HR Advisor, Generalist or HRBP experience, ideally within a fast‑paced environment
Confident in advising managers on employment law fundamentals, performance management, absence, and other core HR matters, with good judgement on when to escalate
Demonstrated ability to manage end‑to‑end ER cases independently, with support available for more complex situations
Excellent communication, influencing and relationship‑building skills, including with senior leaders
High levels of attention to detail, particularly when preparing case documentation, data reports, and written communications
Strong analytical ability and good working knowledge of Excel, with familiarity in SuccessFactors and Power BI advantageous
A proactive self‑starter who takes ownership, stays organised, and delivers consistently in a busy, high‑energy environment
CIPD qualification beneficial but not essential
Full UK driving licence since there might be a need for ad hoc visit to another site in UK
