Amergis Registered Nurse (RN) – Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) in Birmingham, Alabama

Local & Travel Opportunities Available Pay: Local – $50/hr | Travel – $2,100/week Shifts: PM | 36 hrs/week Contract Length: 13 Weeks

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and compassionate Long-Term Acute Care Registered Nurses to join our team. This role involves providing both direct and indirect care to medically complex patients in a long-term acute setting. Ideal candidates are confident in high-acuity environments and comfortable managing diverse clinical needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to LTAC patients with complex medical conditions

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery

  • Maintain accurate documentation within the EPIC EMR system

  • Provide care for patients requiring ventilator support, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and post-trauma stabilization

Minimum Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of practice

  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience (LTAC experience preferred)

  • Experience in acute rehabilitation including vents, wound care, cardiac, and stable post-trauma patients

  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)

  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Assignment Details

  • Modality: RN – Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC)

  • Shift: PM

  • Hours: 36 per week

  • Ratios: Approximately 1:4–1:6

  • Charting System: EPIC

  • Interview: Client interview required

  • Candidates will be screened on acute experience (med-surg, ICU/PCU) and EMR proficiency

Compensation

  • Local: $50 per hour

  • Travel: $2,100 per week
