Amergis Registered / Certified Behavior Technician in Birmingham, Alabama

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – Birmingham, AL

Schedule: 37.5 hours/week

Duration: 20 weeks

Start Date: ASAP

School Year: 2025–2026

Overview

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to support students for the 2025–2026 school year in Birmingham, AL. These roles include both 1:1 support and classroom behavioral assistance within a school setting. If you are passionate about helping students achieve success through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), we want to hear from you!

Position Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician will assist in delivering educational and behavioral services to children with special needs in a school environment. Working under the supervision of school staff and behavioral specialists, the RBT will help implement ABA-based strategies to support learning, behavior management, and skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and classroom behavioral support to students

  • Implement ABA strategies as directed by supervisors

  • Assist with behavioral goals, redirection, and skill acquisition

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and behavior professionals

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment

  • Document progress and report behavioral observations

    Minimum Requirements

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience preferred

  • One year of pediatric experience preferred

  • Associate degree in behavioral studies or related field preferred

  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)

  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if required)

  • Current health certificate per state or contract guidelines

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local hiring requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
