Beckman Coulter Diagnostics Field Service Engineers provide excellent customer service to clients while installing and maintaining diagnostic instrumentation and systems in hospital and stand-alone laboratory environments. As a Field Service Engineer (FSE) you will be the face of Beckman Coulter to customers and support them, directly impacting patient health and overall well-being.As an FSE on our team, you will also provide frontline support by resolving customer(s) problems and issues through technical expertise and troubleshooting. You will drive service revenue sales targets while ensuring strong customer contract retention rate and warranty conversion rate. In this role, you will utilize critical thinking to resolve issues within defined procedures and practices to resolve appropriate action to rapidly repair instrumentation. In addition, you will train our customers and verify the operational performance and data quality of systems in order to contribute to our overall commercial organization.

This position reports to the District Service Manager and is part of the Yellowhammer District, working remotely to cover the Northern Alabama territory.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Under minimal supervision, serve as lead to assigned customers; complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, maintenance, and service repair needs on designated equipment. May assist and/or train newer Field Engineers

  • Keep up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner, ordering repair parts, and adhering to cycle times

  • Focus on customer needs and satisfaction, while building on and enhancing the relationship with the customer to ultimately become a perceived partner in their business

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Associates degree OR military experience with at least 1 year diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment (as field service engineer, biomedical engineer or similar)

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • This position requires travel up to 20%, which may potentially include overnight stays, within the Northern Alabama region

  • Hold a current valid driver’s license and good driving record over last three years

  • Willing to work different shifts as business needs and ability to travel and provide service in assigned geography, as well as periodic travel to other regions or for training

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience collaborating with internal team members and external customers

The hourly range for this role is $36.00 - 38.50/hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
