Job Title: Electrical Engineer SRJob Description
The Electrical Engineer SR position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with 10 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. This role involves overseeing and assisting in the preparation of electrical power system designs, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards, and coordinating multiple projects to meet cost and schedule objectives.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and overseeing electrical power system design including scope documents, schedules, budgets, single line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, layout, and circuitry design.
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical direction to other engineers, designers, and drafters.
Assist in the checkout and startup of systems when necessary.
Effectively communicate with other groups and disciplines to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Provide problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal/communication skills.
Make independent decisions with some consultation with management.
Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Skills
Good knowledge of engineering design principles, preferably power plant electrical system design.
Experience in providing technical direction in the preparation of design details, drawings, and calculations.
Experience in scheduling and coordinating projects to meet cost and schedule objectives.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and CAD Overlay.
High level of initiative and ability to effectively plan, organize, and execute work.
Ability to handle design on large projects at fossil-fired generating plants with limited supervision.
Proficiency with applicable codes, standards, QA, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution is required.
10+ years of experience in the field.
Instrumentation experience, including specifying instruments, creating instrument index, data sheets, loop sheets, and installation details.
Experience with control systems is a bonus.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work schedule, primarily taking place offsite at the candidate's preferred location, such as their residence. Occasional on-site visits to the plant and office are required. Work hours typically range from 7 am to 5 pm daily.

This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
