System One Utility Maintenance Technician in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Utility Maintenance Technician

Location: Birdsboro, PA

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance on machinery, air compressors, HVAC and ventilation systems.

  • Responds to maintenance calls within the most reasonable amount of time.

  • Repairs machinery and support equipment, plumbing work, and all other general building needs.

  • Coordinates plant electrical work within industrial electrical codes.

  • Operates and services fire protection system, routinely checks and evaluates fire alarm system, and acts as local point of contact with fire suppression system and alarm company.

  • Performs Handwork and Assembler duties on an as-needed basis as directed by the Operations Supervisor.

  • Maintains parking areas and building exterior and property, including debris and snow removal, gutter cleaning, clog removal, insect nests, etc.

  • Assists in pickup and delivery of parts and supplies from vendors and customers as needed using company vehicles, maintaining a valid driver’s license in good standing.

  • Regular collection and removal of metal chips and refuse from all areas.

  • Maintains good housekeeping and follows all safety rules.

  • Ensures regular and predictable attendance.

  • Works overtime as needed up to 10-hour shifts.

  • Engages in other activities aligned with company goals and initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with an ongoing clean driving record.

  • 2-4 years of maintenance experience preferred, including machine shop machinery and tools.

  • Skills in welding/brazing, saws, drill press, grinders, hand tools, etc.

  • Must be an independent thinker, looking to solve problems and provide proactive solutions.

  • Must have a mindset and eye towards proactive solutions and preventive work to help increase operational productivity and efficiency.

  • The incumbent must be able to utilize a variety of hand and power tools, climb ladders occasionally, lift up to 40-50 lbs. intermittently, and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

  • Ability to travel to vendor and customer sites as necessary using company trucks (occasional).

  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment (continually).
