Salary: $57,151

The Office of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions (OGRA) at Binghamton University (SUNY) is seeking a dynamic, student-centered professional to join our team as a Graduate Recruiter. As a key ambassador for the University, the successful candidate will serve as the primary bridge between high-potential prospective students and Binghamton's exceptional graduate programs. This is a role for a high-energy communicator who is passionate about the transformative power of graduate education and committed to building a diverse, high-quality, and global student body.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment, this position will implement innovative recruitment strategies that increase the diversity and quality of the graduate learner population. Additionally, this position will cultivate relationships with prospective students, parents, faculty and staff partners, and external organizations. The ideal candidate for this position will be a dynamic and highly motivated individual with interpersonal and public speaking skills.

The Role:

Developing and implementing a strategic, tactical, and operational recruitment plan including:

  • Represent Binghamton University professionally and ethically at international, domestic, and on-campus recruiting events, conferences, and meetings while travelling both independently and as part of a delegation.

  • Collaborate with office leadership and team members to develop and implement a comprehensive graduate recruitment strategy for the university.

  • Coordinate and execute specialized recruitment initiatives targeted specifically at current Binghamton University students to strengthen the internal enrollment pipeline.

  • Utilize innovative methods to develop, plan, organize and execute a global recruitment program.

  • Collect and evaluate data from various outreach efforts to measure the effectiveness of recruitment initiatives and to inform future strategy.

  • Employ professional communication and marketing skills to generate inquiries, providing consistent, high-touch support to prospective students through all stages of the recruitment funnel

  • Establish and maintain a dynamic, cooperative relationship with key campus partners, including the Fleishman Career Center, Residential Life, Educational Opportunity Program, Communications and Marketing, International Student and Scholar Services, and other offices as necessary.

  • Deliver engaging marketing and promotional presentations to diverse audiences through in-person, virtual, and partner-hosted platforms.

    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher)

  • Experience with public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences

  • Required documentation and the ability to travel extensively, including international travel and occasional evening/weekend commitments

  • Effective customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to deliver persuasive presentations to diverse audiences that are both large and small

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadline-driven enrollment goals

  • Ability to be culturally adaptable and work well in diverse environments and with diverse clientele

  • Proficiency with standard office software such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite, with the ability to learn and use new technology, including university systems

Preferred:

  • Master's degree (or higher)

  • Professional experience in higher education

  • Experience with graduate recruitment and graduate degree requirements

  • Experience pulling queries for data-driven reporting & analysis

  • Experience with Slate or similar CRM tool

  • Experience working with international students

  • Experience with designing targeted outreach or recruitment plans
