SUNY Broome Community College Assistant Professor (Computer Science) PRODiG+Community College in Binghamton, New York
The SUNY Broome Community College Computer Science Department is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Computer Science Instructor to join our faculty for the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction with a specialization in Cybersecurity and Computer Networking, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and preparing students for careers in this critical technology field or for further studies. This role requires a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success in a diverse community college setting. This is an in-person, full-time, tenure-track appointment. The Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG+CC) program is an initiative supported by the SUNY system aiming to: (1) increase the number and share of excellent diverse community college faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; (2) strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates; and (3) hire qualified faculty directly into tenure-track positions to support the community college's efforts to build an educated workforce in the state. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in a variety of computer science courses, with a focus on cybersecurity, network security, computer networks, advanced networking protocols, network security, and defensive security strategies. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications: Additional graduate work in an appropriate field is desirable. Demonstrated ability to teach a range of computer science courses including, but not limited to, networking fundamentals, advanced routing and switching, network security, remote network security, secure access methodologies (VPN, SASE), penetration testing, and digital forensics. Salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
