Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

Salary: $57,151 - $60,000

The Assessment Coordinator supports institutional effectiveness by coordinating and managing assessment-related projects across academic and administrative units. Reporting to the Associate Provost for Assessment and Analytics, this position plays a key role in planning, organizing, and monitoring assessment activities, including campus-wide survey administration through Qualtrics and co-administration of the Watermark Course Evaluation and Survey (CES) system. The Assessment Coordinator also supports MSCHE accreditation-related activities through evidence collection, data analysis, and documentation. This role emphasizes project management, collaboration, and operational execution to advance continuous improvement and support data-informed decision-making across the university.

Key Responsibilities

  • Institutional Surveys and Course Evaluations

  • Coordinate the administration of campus-wide surveys using Qualtrics, including creating, scheduling, deployment, and reporting.

  • Serve as a co-administrator of the Watermark Course Evaluation and Survey (CES) system.

  • Assist academic departments with course evaluation setup, timelines, and report dissemination.

  • Provide guidance, documentation, and user support to faculty and staff on survey and course evaluation processes.

  • Assessment Coordination and Project Management

  • Coordinate assessment projects related to student learning outcomes and operational or administrative unit effectiveness.

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, task lists, and deliverables for assessment initiatives.

  • Monitor progress of assessment activities and follow up with units to ensure timely completion of requirements and reporting.

  • Maintain organized records, documentation, and tracking systems for assessment plans, results, and reports.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assessment-related processes, timelines, and communications.

  • Data Support and Reporting

  • Assist with the compilation, analysis, and reporting of assessment and survey data.

  • Prepare summary reports, tables, dashboards, and visualizations to support planning and decision-making.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to institutional data governance and ethical standards.

  • Accreditation and Institutional Support

  • Support accreditation-related activities, including data collection and documentation for the MSCHE self-study and related reporting efforts.

  • Assist in maintaining evidence inventories and responding to data requests from internal stakeholders.

  • Contribute to institutional reports, planning initiatives, and special projects as assigned.

    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, education, public administration, social sciences, or a related field

  • Experience coordinating projects or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders

  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting

  • Demonstrated proficiency with survey platforms

  • Working knowledge of software utilizing data analysis and reporting (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, etc.)

  • Effective organizational, communication, and time-management skills

Preferred:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in data analytics, higher education administration, public administration, social sciences, or a related field

  • Experience working in higher education assessment, institutional research, or institutional effectiveness

  • Experience with Qualtrics

  • Familiarity with course evaluation systems (e.g., Watermark)

  • Experience supporting accreditation, program review, or compliance-related processes

  • Basic experience with data visualization tools
