Yellowstone County Juvenile Care Supervisor in Billings, Montana
Yellowstone County is seeking a Juvenile Care Supervisor to supervise the Juvenile Care Workers and provide basic care and behavior management for youth placed in County youth care facilities by referring agencies; does related work as required. Salary: $27.24 per hour. Schedule: Full-Time Regular Examples of Duties: • Train, assign, supervise and evaluate the work and activities of Juvenile Care Workers and student interns on an assigned shift. • Make needed operational decisions pertaining to the operation of a youth care facility on an assigned shift. • Contact on-call supervisor for emergency consultations in accordance with established program policies and procedures. • Administer and analyze results of psychological testing to arrive at a diagnosis. • Draft written psychological assessments based on diagnoses of psychological testing. • Participate in intake interviews with youth entering a youth care facility and make intake decisions in consultation with other supervisory personnel. • Provide basic care and supervision to youth in youth care to ensure that health, nutritional, educational, social and recreational needs are met. • Develop and coordinate community resources to provide interesting and worthwhile leisure time activities for youth. • Serve as a facilitator for youth activities and support groups. • Supervise family visits on assigned shifts and monitors youth in all activities and situations. • Perform non-crisis intervention activities as required. Minimum Qualifications • Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a bachelor's degree in sociology, psychology, social work, criminal justice or a closely related field; and • One (1) years' experience in working with and counseling youth; or • Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling five (5) years. • A master's degree is desirable. Required Certifications: • Driver's License issued by the State of Montana. • Licensed by the State of Montana as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker. • CPR and First Aid Certification (within 6 months).
