Native American Development Corporation Facility Maintenance Technician in Billings, Montana
The Native American Development Corporation is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all building systems across a clinic, a community center, and an office building. This includes HVAC/R, mechanical systems, plumbing, basic electrical, life-safety, BAS controls, preventive maintenance, and vehicle fleet responsibilities. We prefer that you have experience maintaining and servicing building systems, but if you are mechanically inclined and have an interest in being a Facility Maintenance Technician, please apply. Training is available. Hours: Full time. Wage: Without a boiler license - $21.00 to $28.00 per hour depending on qualifications. With a boiler license - $30.00 to $33.00 per hour depending on qualifications. Qualifications: • Ability to read schematics and O&M manuals. • Valid driver's license. • Mechanical/facilities experience is desirable, but we are willing to train an otherwise qualified person. • Knowledge of HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical and building systems is desirable but we are willing to train an excellent candidate. • CMMS/BAS experience preferred but not necessary. • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Duties may include but are not limited to: • Operate, maintain, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems including RTUs, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, air handlers, and hydronic systems. • Replace filters, belts, bearings, sensors; calibrate thermostats and BAS setpoints. • Monitor and adjust BAS for comfort, efficiency, and indoor air quality. • Maintain and repair fixtures, drains, pumps, traps, water heaters, and backflow devices. • Identify and repair leaks; clear clogs; support hot water system performance. • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting within qualification limits. • Replace lamps, ballasts, drivers, switches, and outlets. • Maintain emergency/egress lighting and support low-voltage systems. • Conduct safety rounds and document inspections. • Test fire alarms, extinguishers, eyewash/showers, AEDs, and emergency lighting. • Support clinical regulatory readiness and maintain required documentation. • Perform carpentry, flooring repair, painting, drywall patching, and door adjustments. • Maintain mechanical rooms and perform seasonal snow/ice response. • Use CMMS to track work orders, PM schedules, parts, and asset history. • Communicate timelines, impacts, and follow-ups clearly with staff. • Coordinate with contractors; verify scope and work quality. • Assist with retrofits, equipment installs, and energy improvements. • Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles (fluids, tires, lights, belts, hoses). • Manage vehicle check-in/check-out documentation. • Record mileage for each trip and maintain logs. • Track service intervals and schedule maintenance. • Verify insurance/registration and required safety equipment.
