Hourly: $$34.97 to $53.86 hourly

Typically, selected candidates are hired at an hourly rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

Position Summary

This role is a key member of the Security Team, responsible for ensuring safe, secure, and positive recreation experiences while representing Grant PUD as both a security professional and ambassador. The position requires strong judgment, emotional intelligence, and situational awareness to de-escalate conflicts, respond to threats, and support security operations. This role will interact regularly with the public, enforce site policies, supports staff and contractors, and coordinates with law enforcement when needed. This role may also assist with investigations and requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct routine patrols as directed by the District Security Operations Center.

  • De-escalate potentially volatile or high-risk situations using sound judgment and interpersonal skills

  • Respond to safety and security concerns involving respond to threats involving Grant PUD employees, visitors, contractors, facilities, and assets.

  • Enforce Grant PUD recreation site rules, policies, and safety standards.

  • Issue warnings for rule violations involving individuals, vehicles, or recreation site use, and escalate enforcement actions when appropriate.

  • Address trespassing, unauthorized occupancy, and other rule violations in accordance with District policy and established procedures.

  • Coordinate or facilitate vehicle towing in accordance with District rules, posted restrictions, and established procedures.

  • Support Grant PUD recreation personnel, business units, contractors, and security response operations.

  • Collect, document, and communicate information necessary for accurate and timely incident reporting pursuant to protocols.

  • Maintain a professional presence while interacting with the public and representing Grant PUD in a positive manner.

  • Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders when appropriate.

  • Assist with investigations and follow up on security related incidents as assigned.

  • Demonstrated commitment to Grant PUD’s mission, vision, values, strategic plan, and Grant PUD / IBEW Local 77 Code of Excellence. The incumbent should be familiar with these organizational priorities and behave in a way that aligns with these expectations.

  • Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & Procedures.

  • Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to:

  • Following all safety policies and procedures.

  • Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions.

  • Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor.

  • Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance.

Required Qualifications: (Education and Experience, License, and/or Certification)

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Ten (10) or more years’ law enforcement experience.

  • A valid driver's license with no driving restrictions.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Investigation techniques and incident documentation practices.

  • Applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to recreation sites and hydroelectric facilities.

  • First aid principles and response.

Skills in:

  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation in high-stress or volatile situations.

  • Interpersonal communication and customer service with diverse populations.

  • Problem-solving and sound decision-making under pressure.

  • Assessing people and situations to identify potential risks or threats.

Ability to:

  • Exercise independent judgment and make timely decisions in dynamic environments.

  • Maintain composure, professionalism, and control during high-pressure or emergency situations.

  • Demonstrate strong situational awareness and adaptability in ambiguous or evolving circumstances.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external partners, and the public.

  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

  • Majority of the work is performed in the field at a recreational site (Crescent Bar) or multiple recreational sites and traveling between them - Field Worko Will perform work onsite at the locations of the assigned Business Units
