Robert Half Bookkeeper in Beverly Hills, California

Description

We are looking for an experienced PART-TIME Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a construction and contractor business in California for 12 hours per week. This PART-TIME Contract position is ideal for an accounting specialist who can maintain accurate records, oversee routine transactions, and help keep financial activity organized and up to date. The right candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks, solid bookkeeping knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple accounting priorities with accuracy and discretion.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain complete and accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and keeping the general ledger current.

• Process vendor invoices, schedule payments, and monitor outgoing funds to ensure accounts payable activity is handled on time.

• Prepare customer billing, apply incoming payments, and track outstanding balances to support effective accounts receivable management.

• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and ensure financial data remains accurate.

• Support payroll administration by organizing pay-related information and helping ensure timely and accurate employee payments.

• Monitor cash position and assist with short-term cash flow tracking to help the business plan for upcoming expenses.

• Use QuickBooks to manage bookkeeping activity, generate financial reports, and maintain organized accounting documentation.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to address accounting questions and help maintain smooth day-to-day financial operations.

Requirements • At least 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a construction, contractor, or similar operational environment.

• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks with the ability to manage routine bookkeeping functions independently.

• Demonstrated experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with a high level of accuracy.

• Proven ability to complete bank reconciliations and maintain reliable financial records.

• Experience supporting full-charge bookkeeping responsibilities across multiple accounting functions.

• Familiarity with payroll support and cash flow monitoring in a fast-paced business setting.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly.
