Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a passionate and student-centered educator to join our team as a full-time Elementary Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Terms of Employment:Contract
Salary:$50,000 (BA, Step 0; based on 2025-2026 salary schedule)
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or related field
Valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate Physical Education endorsement
Demonstrated successful teaching experience preferred
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Must be able to provide required I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States
Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging physical education instruction aligned to district and state standards
Promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits
Develop age-appropriate lessons that build motor skills, coordination, and physical literacy
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student abilities and needs
Maintain a safe and organized gymnasium and equipment environment
Assess and monitor student progress in physical skills and fitness development
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities
Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
Support the overall mission and goals of the Bettendorf Community School District
