Job Summary:
The primary duties of the Construction Manager (II) are to ensure the installation of the Mechanical or Electrical equipment is completed safely, on time, on budget, and in accordance with the specifications of the project. The Construction Manager will represent PowerSecure at the project site level, oversee all construction activities, be present for all equipment deliveries, manage subcontractors and internal resources, as well as interfacing with the customer, utility, and local AHJ’s.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
High School Diploma with 4+ years of experience in construction, energy industries preferred
Ability to read and communicate in English
Ability to use computer and proficient with standard office software
Ability to read and interpret construction documents
Proficient with computer and proficient with standard office software and construction management software.
Proficient with the ability to read and interpret construction documents, product data submittals and site specifications.
Knowledge of construction management, financials, and construction process.
Experience working with General Contractors, subcontractors, customers, Engineers, utilities, and AHJ’s.
Must be punctual, organized, and professional.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to lead and conduct meetings in various formats.
Must be able to pass a government background check, drug test and other site pre-access requirements.
OSHA 10 or 30 training (not required, but a plus).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain safe and healthy work sites by following company standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements
Coordinate and administer daily safety briefs with contractors and company employees to ensure a safe working environment
Coordinate and lead project meetings with customer, utility, subcontractors, and/or others
Proficiently understand all aspects of project and adequately manage the installation
Ensure project sites are always left in a tidy manner and follow housekeeping standards and procedures
Coordinate with internal parties for budget and cost management
Assist with material selection and procurement as needed
Properly coordinate with respective parties for timely execution of project schedule
Proficiently communicate with Senior Staff to ensure each project is installed safely, timely, and on budget
Working Conditions:
This position is remote
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Travel required (70%+), must be willing and able to drive company vehicle and/or fly commercially if necessary.
Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate different time zones (Central/Eastern/Mountain/Pacific), if necessary.
Environment may consist of but not limited to the following: exposure to weather in varying climates, exposure to noise intensity levels, exposure to energized electrical equipment, exposure to overhead hazards (crane & rigging), and exposure to heavy machinery.
Be flexible for after-hours tasks, as needed.
