Newly Weds Foods Maintenance Mechanic - Second Shift in BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania

Qualified candidate will be responsible for "hands on" managing of building maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, with heavy emphasis on machine and electrical servicing to the organization's manufacturing facility. HVAC experience a must. VFD experiences a plus. Computer experience in Excel/Word is helpful. Must be able to work independently, as well as, work within a team in a fast-paced, multi-priority 3 shift environment by meeting or exceeding all quality, production and safety standards. Must have extensive experience with standard maintenance concepts, practices and procedures. Will require a minimum of 1 to 2 years maintenance experience and training. Will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains various company production machines and equipment.

Essential functions / primary responsibilities

  1. Will be required to be certified in work areas of responsibility which will include LockOut/TagOut and Forklift certification.
  2. Identifies, analyzes and repairs equipment and replaces parts as needed.
  3. Will perform general Preventative Maintenance (PM) as assigned.
  4. Will use hand and power tools to maintain equipment according to job specifications. Identifies units that fail and repairs as necessary.
  5. Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.
  6. Relies on instruction or pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Required skills, knowledge, abilities and training:

  1. able to work independently in a team environment and follow instructions
  2. must be able to maintain safety, quality, productivity and cost standards
  3. requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 1 to 2 years of previous maintenance experience
  4. ability to operate, test and maintain all company equipment in a safe manner
  5. must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the manufacturing / maintenance field
  6. relies on previous experience and judgment to accomplish assigned goals/tasks

Working conditions / physical aspects of the job:

  1. employee is required to regularly walk, stand, stoop, stretch, lift and reach as work schedule mandates
  2. employee will be working 2nd shift in a fast-paced, multi-priority manufacturing environment
  3. must be able to move and/or lift weights in excess of 100 pounds
  4. must possess good communication skills both verbal and written
