GAP Solutions Inc Single Cell Biologist in Bethesda, Maryland
Position Objective: The Single Cell Biologist supports research at the Center for Alzheimer's and Related Dementias by processing human tissue and cell lines, preparing sequencing libraries and analyzing data. This position supports the National Institute on Aging (NIA) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and administer biological research programs
Study basic principles of plant and animal life, such as origin, relationship, development, anatomy, and function
Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relations with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings
Collect and analyze biological data about relationships among and between organisms and their environment
Monitor and observe experiments, recording production and test data for evaluation by research personnel
Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings
Coordinate the work of biological technicians and technologists and other scientists
Operate, calibrate, or maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis, such as spectrophotometers, calorimeters, flame photometers, or computer-controlled analyzers
Maintain laboratory equipment
Operate laboratory equipment to analyze samples 5
Analyze laboratory findings
Program and use computers to store, process, and analyze data 4
Monitor operational procedures in technical environments to ensure conformance to standards 1
Interpret research or operational data 3
Record research or operational data 2
Clean Equipment, Run Validation, Insect Equipment, Meet with lab members to present updates
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Genetics, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or similar field of study.
Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Skilled in Outlook, Seurat, R, Excel, Google Drive, and PowerPoint
Experienced in QC Testing, Planning and optimizing experiments
Experienced in Sequencing sample and Library Prep
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
