This is a temporary role.

Provides leadership for the development, implementation, and support of software/technology integrations to support long term technology partnerships resulting from growth initiatives including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions. This role will be responsible for external partner relationship management, internal stakeholder orchestration, project management, support escalation, and technical delivery for long term partnerships.

This position manages day-to-day relationships, issues and priorities with stakeholders, providers, partners and global technology teams to drive seamless integration of new software products and platforms into Marriott’s technology ecosystem, support migration activities, ensure appropriate levels of support for the partner and optimize and document support and communication processes.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required :

  • 10+ years of software technology leadership experience, executing various approaches of systems

  • Five years recent experience as a primary point of accountability for one or more business functions catering to multiple customer groups

  • Seasoned technology leader well versed in IT strategy and business disciplines, with a good grasp of customer experience, project management, product development and integration

  • Demonstrated expertise of industry application platforms, trends, and best practices

  • Understanding of best practices in technology standards and processes

  • Use of ceremonies and processes associated with Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (e.g., Agile and Waterfall)

  • Strong process management, negotiating, influencing and problem resolution skills

  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, and decide/influence appropriate courses of action

  • Ability to understand and communicate the lifecycle of technologies and applications and to translate into technical strategies for the client organizations

Preferred :

  • Experience in travel and hospitality software technology systems/products

  • Hands-on experience in innovation initiatives with external partners

  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Experience in business systems and process planning

  • Knowledge of business environment, service and support requirements and hospitality culture

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy-to understand business terms

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Relationship Management & Strategic Initiatives

  • Primary Point of Contact : This role owns the external-facing technical relationship with the partner and aligns internal efforts to deliver value. Acts as the primary point of contact for both the external partner and the internal stakeholder teams for technical discussions, escalations, support tickets and other needs. (Includes Marriott Global Technology and Business discipline teams – Core Platform Engineering domains, Global Information Security, Infrastructure, Global Operations, Revenue Management, Digital, Legal, Testing, etc.)

  • Strategic Alignment : Understands partner’s business goals and ensures Marriott work aligns with their evolving needs from a technical enablement perspective. Directly influence and lead engagements with external partners and internal stakeholders to develop and execute a technical integrations roadmap to support the partners’ strategic business objectives, their agreements with Marriott, DTT transition work and other initiatives.

  • Growth & Opportunity Management : Identifies new opportunities enabled by technical capabilities. Collaborates with key decision makers (external partner and Marriott leaders) to identify opportunities for:

  • Strengthening the overall partnership with Marriott

  • Increasing revenue through technical integrations

  • Enhancing the delivery of services and/or performance of systems

  • Converting viable opportunities into formal initiatives with Marriott (business sponsorship, intake process, SOWs)

  • Growth Initiatives : Drives and project manages co-innovation projects, pilots, or initiatives that deepen the partnership (e.g., new work). Manages day-to day relationships with external partner and internal IT teams as needed (e.g., Security, Infrastructure, Shared Platforms) to promote the delivery of services that meet or exceed the partner expectations.

  • Executive Communication : Facilitates high-level technical discussions and builds trust with partner executives and technology leads.

  • Voice of the Partner : Brings Partner feedback into Marriott Global Technology to shape priorities, improvements, and investments.

Technical Delivery

  • Program / Project Delivery . This role owns the internal-facing orchestration of execution—ensuring delivery, structure, and reporting are sound and scalable.

  • Budget & Resource Management : Manages new budget requests for partner support. Leads prioritization and funding efforts for partner initiatives through Technology Integrations, Global Technology, EPP/CWI or other forums.

  • Support Escalation and Optimization: Serves as the primary point of contact to ensure that Partner issues are resolved in a timely fashion. Identifies any support or communication gaps and works to bring solutions forward to address.

  • Technical Roadmap Execution : Provides overall project management of business projects/portfolios. Aligns internal technical and business teams to deliver on commitments. Drives DTT migration. Develops and maintains technical roadmap with prioritization. Identify items for future roadmap being triggered by changes from Marriott. Work with partner to maintain a roadmap that contains items driven by the partner, Marriott or key technology providers. Guides and influences Global Technology teams without direct authority (e.g., engineering / domain teams, data teams, digital teams, testing teams, etc.). Supports the successful deployment of DTT in the partner ecosystem by

  • Assembling required Marriott leaders, facilitating discussions, determining Marriott desired approaches and relaying to discipline business partners including change management, deployment, learning process

  • Serves as project manager for successful pull through of Global Technology strategies and partner technical roadmap

  • Strategic Business Reviews and Technical Reviews : Plans and coordinates content for formal reviews with partner. Meets regularly with partner discipline and IT leaders and conducts periodic strategic business reviews and technical reviews, driving resulting action items. Facilitates recurring meetings with partner to review if any open problems require escalation and to discuss future roadmap. If open problem needs escalation, advocate for prioritization and action with appropriate GT support teams.

  • Reporting & Analytics : Owns KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting to internal and partner stakeholders.

  • Risk Management : Anticipates issues, develops mitigation plans, and keeps projects on track. Receive, handle, report status and solve escalations directly from partner. Facilitates timely resolution of escalated service delivery problems and minimizes the impact of any partner service delivery issues. Provides early warning to the appropriate Technology, Product and Business leaders and team regarding degraded or missed service levels. Supports and follows defined IT Governance decision rights, standards and practices
