Closet Factory Operations Manager (Field Operations & Installation) in Bethel, Connecticut

Operations Manager (Field Operations & Installation) Location: Westchester & Fairfield CountyCompany: Closet Factory Overview We are seeking a hands-on, high-accountability Operations Manager to lead our field operations, installation teams, and job execution. This role sits at the core of our business - ensuring every project is delivered on time, on spec, and to a high standard of craftsmanship and client satisfaction. You will own installer performance, enforce quality standards, and step directly into the field and client conversations when needed. Key Responsibilities Field Operations Leadership * Lead and manage all installers and field crews (scheduling, performance, accountability) * Own daily execution across all active installations * Conduct job site visits to ensure quality, professionalism, and efficiency * Own the full field ecosystem — crews, vehicles, tools, and on-site performance Client Interaction & Issue Resolution * Serve as the primary escalation point for installation-related client issues * Communicate directly with clients to troubleshoot problems and de-escalate situations * Handle phone-based support as needed to resolve issues quickly and professionally * Take full ownership of issues — from first call through final resolution Quality Control & Standards * Establish and enforce installation standards (fit, finish, completeness) * Reduce service callbacks through proactive oversight * Implement checklists and job completion sign-offs Scheduling & Throughput * Partner with office/admin to optimize install schedules and crew utilization * Ensure jobs are completed on time and within expected labor hours * Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across field operations Team Development * Train, coach, and elevate installer performance * Hold underperformers accountable and make staffing decisions as needed Fleet & Equipment Management * Oversee company vehicle fleet (vans, tools, and install equipment) * Ensure vehicles are maintained, clean, and job-ready at all times * Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and accountability across crews Team Development & Accountability * Train, coach, and elevate installer performance * Identify and develop crew leads * Hold underperformers accountable and make staffing decisions as needed Cross-Functional Coordination * Work closely with Sales/Design, Engineering and Production to ensure clean handoffs * Ensure install teams are fully prepared before arriving on site * Drive continuous improvement across the full job lifecycle What Success Looks Like * Install jobs are completed right the first time * Service calls and rework are materially reduced * Client issues are handled immediately and professionally * Crews operate with discipline, accountability, and pride in their work * Field operations run smoothly without constant escalation Ideal Candidate * 5+ years managing field operations, construction, or installation teams * Strong leadership presence — able to command respect from blue-collar teams * Excellent communication skills — comfortable speaking directly with clients and de-escalating situations * Hands-on mentality — willing to go into the field and solve problems personally * Highly organized with strong problem-solving instincts * Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Compensation * Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus * Growth path into broader operational leadership * Health, dental, and vision insurance * Wellness benefits * 401(k) plan
