Micromatic LLC Machinist, Tier 2 in Berne, Indiana
Position Summary
This position will machine parts with CNC machines to the drawings and blueprint specifications to meet customer requirements. Must possess the skills necessary to perform duties. Must also possess the necessary precision equipment/tools to perform the duties of this position.
Essential Job Functions
Ability to operate machines to tier level
Machine parts to required tolerances
Inspect parts as necessary to meet quality requirements using devices such as calipers, micrometers, and go/no-go gauges
Perform all necessary hand operations such as filing, fitting, and scraping
Checks dispatch list for next job
Cleans machine table & machine
Sweeps floor and mop
Record labor for job by keying data into terminal
Any additional job tasks assigned by management
Education
High School or equivalent
Machine Trade School Certification or equivalent work experience
Applicable math background and skills
Blueprint reading and interpretation skills
Mandatory Qualification Requirements
Must be proficient in meeting Tier I requirements
Demonstrated ability in changing a worn insert or tool and how to reset tool length.
Working knowledge of machine set-ups, either manual or CNC machines. Must be skilled at adding and removing fixtures correctly for all jobs run through assigned machines.
Before obtaining market rate, must have demonstrated ability to indicate the parts and/or fixtures and set the machine coordinates accordingly. (part/fixture offsets) either through CNC controls or DRO's on Manual Machines.
Understand machine coordinate systems and how to make tool adjustments correctly
