JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Registered Nurse, who functions as the primary support person to the Nurse Manager for the direction and coordination of nursing care for a specific patient care area or unit. The ANM has the authority, responsibility, and accountability to manage the department/area in collaboration with the nurse manager. The ANM carries out the responsibilities of the nurse manager in their absence with guidance from the Director. The ANM ensures safe, cost effective, quality patient care services through responsible utilization of resources, delegation, and effective communication in their department and throughout the organization.
KNOWLEDGE:
Registered Nurse with current, unencumbered Vermont license. BSN or equivalent is required on hire or within eighteen (18) months. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite preferred. Obtains and maintains American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within one (1) month of hire and maintained thereafter. Other certifications obtained and maintained in accordance with clinical area requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
3 years of clinical experience in area of practice with demonstrated leadership skills including interpersonal communication and organizational excellence is preferred. Demonstrates high level of emotional intelligence.
