Hours: 1st Shift / 7:00AM - 3:30PM Days: Monday through Friday What is the job: As an Equipment Technician / Maintenance Associate with Avient, you are responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and/or maintain all equipment in good operating condition as quickly and accurately as possible; while keeping associated costs to a minimum to help meet Plant goals. Essential Functions * Disassemble and assemble equipment components to proper specifications though the use of hand tools and any specialized tooling. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Research repair needs and order parts as needed. * Project management of sub assemblies and small projects without supervision. * Aide in design suggestions/changes for Equipment. * Building and developing equipment for custom applications to enable greater use of liquid colorants or additives at the direction of the Equipment Manager. * Testing of equipment as directed by the Equipment Manager. * Recording and reporting data and performance from improvements in the lab and the field. * Cleanup and refurbishment of used equipment including but not limited to: cart systems, motors, positive displacement pumps, etc. * Inventory management within the department. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications * High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), Associate's Degree Preferred * Technical School degree or equivalent experience * Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals * Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must have the ability to use conversions, work with different units such as weight, volume, density, distance, etc. Physical Demands * Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listening * Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs * May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds * Ability to frequently communicate and understand work instructions and information in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where noise level is loud * Must be able to detect and discern safety alarms and res
