Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment throughout a food processing facility, with a primary focus on conveyor systems that transport green beans and bell peppers. This role emphasizes electrical work, with approximately 80% of the duties focused on electrical systems and 20% on mechanical tasks. The technician will help ensure that production machinery operates safely and efficiently with minimal downtime and will assist the maintenance leadership team with the installation and execution of preventive maintenance programs across the facility.
Responsibilities
Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of industrial electrical systems, with an emphasis on minimizing downtime on production equipment.
Maintain, repair, and optimize conveyor systems used to transport green beans and bell peppers throughout the facility.
Conduct electrical work on systems up to 480V, including three-phase motors and related components.
Assist the maintenance leadership team with the installation, rollout, and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance (PM) programs across the facility.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to diagnose issues and perform accurate repairs.
Carry out preventive maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical equipment to reduce unplanned breakdowns and extend equipment life.
Perform industrial maintenance on a variety of machinery, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as needed.
Use PLC troubleshooting skills to help identify and resolve control and automation issues on production equipment, where applicable.
Document maintenance and repair activities clearly and accurately to support maintenance records and equipment history.
Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and support safe, efficient operations.
Support installation, service, and maintenance repair projects on new or upgraded equipment as the facility invests in maintenance improvements.
Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical systems, industrial equipment, and tools.
Essential Skills
Strong electrical experience with the ability to independently troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems.
Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including diagnosing faults and resolving issues on production equipment.
Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining conveyor systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Ability to perform electrical work on systems up to 480V safely and accurately.
Experience repairing and maintaining three-phase motors, including diagnosis and replacement as needed.
Capability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to support troubleshooting and repairs.
Industrial maintenance experience in a production or manufacturing setting, with exposure to both electrical and mechanical systems.
Demonstrated skill in preventive maintenance to keep equipment running reliably and reduce downtime.
Proficiency in general maintenance repair practices, including safe use of tools and test equipment.
Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and maintenance on conveyor and industrial equipment with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Machine repair experience on a variety of industrial production equipment.
Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
Fabrication skills, such as basic metalwork or light welding, to support equipment repair and modification.
Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting to assist in diagnosing control system issues.
Experience working in an industrial or food processing environment is beneficial.
Comfort working in a role with a strong electrical focus (approximately 80% electrical, 20% mechanical).

Work Environment
This role is based in a food processing facility where conveyor lines move green beans and bell peppers through production. The environment is refrigerated, with temperatures around 40 degrees, so team members dress warmly in coats and gloves. After approximately one month, company uniforms are provided. Multiple shifts are available, with openings on first and second shift, and a third shift schedule also in place. Typical shift times are approximately 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for first shift, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for second shift, and 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for third shift. Technicians may work 10–12 hour days until the team is fully staffed, and during busy seasons, such as around Thanksgiving, they can expect extended hours with a 55–60 hour workweek. The role involves hands-on work with industrial equipment, including electrical systems, conveyor systems, three-phase motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related tools, in a fast-paced production setting where safety and reliability are critical.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $62400.00/yr.
