Purpose:To safely, economically and efficiently install, maintain, test and calibrate all assigned electrical/electronic equipment associated with the power delivery and communications systems owned or to be maintained by the Cooperative. To ensure the investment of the Cooperative, harmony among the employees, and service of the equipment is protected at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The major activities for which this position is held accountable.\ Install and maintain all assigned electrical/electronic equipment owned or to be maintained by the Cooperative. This includes protective relaying systems utilizing microprocessor and electromechanical relays, revenue metering systems, substation control and monitoring systems, station dc battery and charger systems, and other associated equipment.\ Install and wire new additions or replacements to existing switchboard and other panels or equipment as required.\ Become familiar with drawings and instruction bulletins on all assigned equipment as required.\ Recommend, promote, and maintain safe working practices for personnel and equipment in compliance with Cooperative policies and procedures.\ Check, revise, and keep current substation drawings and diagrams as required.\ Accurately maintain, record, and report maintenance accomplished in accordance with established procedures.\ Properly care for, handle, use, and account for material, equipment, tools, vehicles, and supplies under your control.\ Responsible for the cleanliness of work, storage, and other areas as assigned.\ Work with control and communications equipment as required or requested.\ Assist in the maintenance and testing of substation apparatus and other associated equipment within the Cooperative as required.\ Cooperate in achieving the objective of eliminating recognized hazards to safety and health. Comply with all Safety and Health rules.\ Participate in the training and instruction of the safe operation and maintenance of all equipment and/or processes.\ Ensure the training of personnel assigned under direction.\ Ability to effectively establish and maintain harmonious and productive work relationships with the work crews, managers, other Cooperative personnel and external contacts.
