Under the direction of the CMO, the Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor provides advanced clinical leadership and nursing oversight for outpatient mental health and intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) services across residential group homes and supervised independent living settings. In addition to direct nursing functions, the Senior RN Supervisor oversees and supports a nursing team consisting of one Registered Nurse (RN) and one Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), ensuring high-quality, compliant, and coordinated healthcare services for individuals served. The Senior RN Supervisor functions as the agencys primary nursing authority and serves as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary teams, residential leadership, and executive management.
Clinical Nursing Leadership & Oversight:Provide clinical leadership and oversight of nursing services across residential group homes, supervised independent living programs, and outpatient services. Serve as the primary nursing consultant for complex medical and psychiatric cases and support the integration of medical and behavioral health care. Monitor high-risk individuals, implement risk mitigation strategies, and provide joint RN oversight of residential programs through site visits, assessments, direct care, and clinical consultation. Participate in agency clinical decision-making, policy development, and represent the organization in statewide nursing meetings as appropriate.
Medication Management & Clinical Oversight:Oversee medication management systems across all programs, including review of medication orders, medication reconciliation, and Medication Administration Records (MARs). Delegate medication administration to trained staff and monitor adherence to medication administration standards. Ensure safe use of psychotropic and medical medications, complia ce with laboratory monitoring protocols, and lead medication error reviews and corrective action planning.
Health Assessments & Care Coordination:Oversee completion of nursing assessments and coordinate care for individuals with complex or chronic medical conditions. Conduct in-person health assessments as needed and serve as liaison with primary care providers, hospitals, pharmacies, specialists, and visiting nurse agencies. Lead discharge planning and ensure continuity of care following hospitalizations or emergency department visits. Provide limited medical consultation to staff and individuals served within scope of practice.
Staff Supervision & Performance Management:Provide direct supervision to nursing staff including one Registered Nurse (RN) and one Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Conduct regular supervision, approve timecards, assign duties, and oversee scheduling to ensure adequate nursing coverage. Complete performance evaluations, support professional development, and ensure staff maintain licensure, competencies, and adherence to professional and ethical nursing standards.
