Job Description Summary
Monitoring & Diagnostics Sustaining Engineer - This role will be responsible for maintaining and managing Data Acquisition system (DAQ), Balance of Plant (BOP) and cross-fleet data to carry out the Monitoring and Diagnostic of Plant equipment. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for setup, configuration and troubleshooting the DAQ system during the initial configuration of the devices and managing its lifecycle. Additionally, the engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting the integration of various 3rd party DCS, PLC’s, DAQs, controller systems and BOP data sources with the GE Vernova’s server at multiple sites.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and support DAQ configuration at site.
Act as single point of contact for technical decisions on system configuration to ensure customer satisfaction and business success with technical M&D delivery.
Maintain and support Data Acquisition System dataflow (including DCS and Other OEM) for M&D monitoring.
Understand and troubleshoot current architecture at site, including interfaces to customer and
Other 3rdparty devices. Work on central databases to troubleshoot any parameter disrupting the flow of data from local server to central system.
Improve DAQ and BOP (through DCS connection) data availability for the fleet.
Configure DAQ and BOP tag sets and troubleshoot configuration and data issues as needed.
Own and solve data quality issues related to plant tag sets and downstream systems.
Own customer communication and issue resolution for both internal and external customers.
Work with development teams to test new tools andapplications, andprovide input on enhancements and defects.
Interact with Site/Customer team on the troubleshooting.
Work with cyber devices and address customer’s cyber concern as needed.
Helpful if applicant has background or at least familiar with AERO control systems
Previous work with AERO CSLs
Able to work directly with customers and answer questions related to the M&D service
Proven ability to resolve high visibility escalations under tight timelines
Familiar with AERO Engineering and Quick Response Center
Hands on experience with Linux!
Required Qualifications
Bachelors in Engineering (Power/electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation) or IT/Network.
Overall experience of 5 to 7 years with 2 to 4 years experience in power industry projects related to SCADA and DCS commissioning.
Hands on experience/Knowledge in protocols like Modbus and OPC DCOM, OPC Tools, OPC UA etc.
Hands on experience onNational Instruments Data Acquisition system.
Knowledge in Proficy Historian, Control ST and AWS
Basic understanding of Gas Turbine (GE, Alstom)
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of control systems, both GE and non-GE.
Exposure towards GE Mark*, AlstomAlspa, ABB controllers will be an added advantage
Knowledge of OSI Pi,ProficyHistorian, etc.
Networking knowledge, CCNA certified, including firewall, switches, etc.
Cyber Security knowledge/experience/training
Tools/Software Experience: Python, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Hyper-V, VMWare, MS Visio, MS Office
Implement automation efforts to support proactive issue prevention and/or resolution.
Draft training and troubleshooting documentation.
Lead lean initiatives across cross functional teams.
