Overview:
This leader will oversee a cross-functional team comprising Mechanical, Electronics, Composites , Plastics and Engineered Items — will responsible for driving operational excellence in end to end procurement strategy and execution for India Operations of Collins Aerospace.
The position bridges strategy and operations by translating commodities driven procurement strategies into flawless execution, ensuring supply continuity, cost control, and service-level performance.
The role demands a balanced strategic and operational orientation, combining Business Units, Supplier relationship management, risk governance, stakeholder alignment, and hands-on leadership of execution teams delivering measurable results in Delivery, Material enablement, Delivery. cost, and compliance.
Job Title : Director - SCM
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Procurement Management
Lead and oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle from requisition through purchase order issuance to payment closure
Establish Tiered accountability governance – seamless material fulfillment to operations
Drive structured expediting governance to prevent supply disruptions and minimize past-due orders
2. Supplier Performance & Management
Own accountability for supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), lead-time adherence, and service-level performance
Systematically analyze delivery gaps and implement robust corrective and preventive mitigation actions.
Lead supplier performance reviews and drive structured corrective action plans (CAPAs).
3. Process Improvement & Digital Enablement
Champion automation and digital transformation initiatives including eProcurement platforms and ERP enhancements.
Implement Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to improve supplier performance and eliminate process gaps
KPI-driven governance with data transparency and real-time performance visibility
4. Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Supply Chain Managers and Buyers.
Set clear objectives, performance metrics, and structured development plans aligned with organizational goals.
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Build succession planning and capability development frameworks within the India supply chain organization
5. Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for global executive leadership on India procurement execution initiatives.
Build strong credibility with internal stakeholders, strategic suppliers, and relevant government/industry bodies.
Collaborate closely with Planning, Operations, Finance, Logistics, Engineering, Strategic Sourcing , Supplier Development and Quality teams to ensure alignment to meet Business expectations
Support global supply chain transformation initiatives and localization strategies
6. Risk Management & Compliance
Identify and proactively mitigate supply chain risks, including capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, and quality risks.
Establish and maintain business continuity and contingency planning for critical suppliers and long-lead components
Ensure full compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements, including AS9100, NADCAP, and ITAR/EAR
Qualifications we prefer:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical / Aerospace / Automotive) or Supply Chain Management.
18+ years of experience in Aerospace / Automotive supply chain, Procurement or operations leadership, with at least 5 years in a managerial or regional leadership role.
Proven track record of P2P expert , Negotiations, Cost Ownership, Supplier Relationship or supply chain transformation projects in a global organization.
Deep understanding of ERP Tools, Global stakeholder management, People leadership
Certifications: CPIM , CPSM, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt
Prior experience in OEM or Tier-1 Aerospace / Automotive Supplier organizations.
Exposure to digital supply chain tools, advanced analytics, or Contract Management

Change Leadership: Skilled at leading transformation and managing ambiguity in complex environments.
