Cadence Design Systems Inc. (http://www.cadence.com/) is looking for a motivated Sr Principal Software Engineer: AI Systems to be part of the ChipStack AI Super Agent (https://www.cadence.com/en_US/home/company/newsroom/press-releases/pr/2026/cadence-unleashes-chipstack-ai-super-agent-pioneering-a-new.html) team in Belo Horizonte - working on the world’s first agentic AI platform that autonomously designs and verifies chips with up to 10× productivity gains.
Chips are the bedrock of the modern world, yet the way we design and verify them has remained largely stagnant for decades. As AI demands drive unprecedented complexity in silicon, the old manual workflows are reaching a breaking point. We are the ChipStack SuperAgent Team within Cadence’s System Verification Group. Born from the agility of a high-growth startup and now powered by Cadence’s industry-leading EDA technologies (Xcelium, Jasper, Palladium), our mission is to build the "operating system" for AI agents in semiconductor design. We aren't just adding features; we are supercharging the entire hardware development lifecycle with state-of-the-art agentic workflows and data-driven automation. Cadence has been nominated as a Great Place to Work globally and in Brazil and is also a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For (https://www.cadence.com/en_US/home/company/newsroom/press-releases/pr/2022/fortune-and-great-place-to-work-name-cadence-to-the-2022-100.html) .
Job Description:
Be a technical pillar for the SuperAgent ecosystem. This is a high-leverage role for a strong Full Stack Engineer who thrives at the intersection of complex systems architecture and cutting-edge AI.
You will architect the infrastructure that allows AI agents to reason, plan, and execute across massive EDA datasets.
You will bridge the gap between cloud-scale innovation and the stringent security requirements of on-premises semiconductor environments.
You will be a lead contributor to our core agentic frameworks, ensuring they are modular, observable, and production-ready.
Full-Stack Ownership: Drive end-to-end development using Python (for LLM orchestration and data logic) and TypeScript/React (for sophisticated agent-human interaction interfaces).
Hybrid Deployment Strategy: Design systems that are equally performant in modern Cloud environments and secure, air-gapped On-Premise data centers.
Evaluation & Reliability: Build "LLM-native" CI/CD pipelines, including automated red-teaming, regression testing for agent trajectories, and sophisticated observability to monitor agent "drift."
Technical Leadership: Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, define engineering best practices, and influence the long-term technical roadmap for AI-driven verification.
Requirements:
Complete Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Electrical/Electronic Engineering, etc.
Experience: 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of leading complex, distributed systems projects.
The Stack: Deep proficiency in Python and TypeScript. You should be comfortable moving from a low-level data pipeline to a high-level frontend component.
Cloud & On-Prem: Proven experience deploying and scaling enterprise-grade software across diverse environments (AWS/Azure/GCP and Kubernetes-based on-prem clusters).
Engineering Fundamentals: Mastery of system design, API contract versioning, and refactoring legacy complexity into clean, testable abstractions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese .
Nice to have:
Agentic Frameworks: Hands-on experience with frameworks to build agents (e.g., Agents SDK from leading LLM labs).
LLM Engineering: Experience with prompt optimization, structured output generation (Pydantic/instructor), and managing context windows for long-running engineering tasks.
Retrieval Systems: Deep understanding of RAG pipelines, including hybrid search, vector databases (Milvus, Pinecone, or pgvector), and advanced chunking strategies for technical documentation.
EDA Interest: While prior semiconductor experience isn't required, a passion for high-performance computing and how silicon is built is a huge plus.

Employment category: CLT.
Employment term: 40 hours /week.
Competitive benefits.
