Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Software Engineer II: DevOps in Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Cadence Design Systems Inc. (https://www.cadence.com/en_US/home.html) is looking for a motivated Software Engineer II: DevOps to work with us in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Job Description:

  • Member of a new DevOps group focused on delivering automation and developer productivity gains to a large R&D organization.

  • Helping to accelerate our software engineering processes by deploying Agentic AI coding platforms widely and effectively.

  • Develop code in Python within a distributed software development environment with other contributors from around the world.

  • Create new internal tools using web technologies – JavaScript/MySQL, etc., on a Linux platform.

  • Role will include some responsibilities for C++ code development within existing Cadence products.

    Requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.

  • Strong programming and software engineering experience in Python and JavaScript or comparable languages. Some exposure to C-like languages (C/C++/Java/C# etc.).

  • Interest in AI tools for software development (Agents/Skills/MCP)

  • Knowledge of modern Web development practices and frameworks on Linux including command line and basic administration.

  • Interest in software engineering: language features, data structures, design patterns, unit testing, automation tools.

  • Proficiency in a version control system (Perforce/Git etc.).

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English/Portuguese and a good team player.

    Nice to Have:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or Bachelor’s with at least 2 years of work experience in a comparable software engineering role.

  • Knowledge of Agentic Coding systems such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.

  • Knowledge of GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, or another CI/CD system.

  • Experience in a DevOps team
