Job Title: Weaver Job Description

Operate specialized production machinery safely and efficiently to support advanced textile and aerospace composite manufacturing. The role involves managing multiple machines and requires high physical stamina and frequent movement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment to produce products in accordance with safety, quality, and company goals.

  • Run the Autoweaver, a proprietary machine used in the preform area, with training provided.

  • Complete machine setup in accordance with machine and style specifications.

  • Perform on-cycle product inspections and document findings.

  • Follow verbal and written instructions to produce assigned products.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Escalate product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or safety issues to management.

  • Wear required PPE: steel-toe shoes, earplugs, and eyewear.

  • Work in a carbon-fiber production environment with elevated noise levels.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ year of machine operating experience.

  • High physical endurance, including frequent bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, walking, climbing, and repetitive motion.

  • Experience managing multiple machines at once or working in fast-paced production settings.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • Detail-oriented for quality checks and identifying machine issues.

  • Ability to escalate maintenance issues when machines go down.

  • US citizenship required for ITAR/export-controlled aerospace work.

  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs and stand for the full shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Several years of machine operating experience.

  • Background in textiles, weaving, or composite materials.

  • Experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude or troubleshooting skills.

Work Environment

Work in a temperature-controlled facility with LED lighting, handling fiberglass and carbon-fiber materials. The environment requires PPE, such as steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and earplugs, due to dust and noise levels. Operators must be comfortable with physical demands, including lifting 50 lbs, and standing for the full shift. The team largely consists of Burmese-speaking employees, requiring English-speaking operators for communication and compliance. Shifts include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with a $1.00/hr shift differential for night hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belmont, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.88/hr.
