Job Summary
As a CNC Setup Machinist, you will independently set up and support CNC mills and lathes for a variety of production runs. You'll select the appropriate machines, tooling, materials, and controls for each job, perform first article inspections, troubleshoot issues, and support operators throughout the production process. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently set up multiple CNC mills and lathes including Haas, Mori Seiki, Toyoda, Nakamura, and similar equipment
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, fixtures, attachments, and workpieces
- Perform First Article Inspections and monitor in-process part quality
- Adjust and maintain tooling offsets to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues
- Assist CNC operators with setup adjustments and tool changes
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Create or update setup sheets, procedures, and related documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Minimum Qualifications
Proven ability to independently set up, troubleshoot, and run tight-tolerance parts, including difficult-to-machine materials
